In this video, I explore the rabbinic commentary on Isaiah 44:7-14, where God reveals His plan to send the Servant Messiah to be a witness to Israel and the nations. I compare the biblical and rabbinic sources and the Aramaic Targum on the themes of God’s deliverance, the Messiah’s identity and role, and the futility of idolatry. I also show how the New Testament echoes and fulfills the prophecies of Isaiah.
