Bereshit / Genesis 6:22 Thus Noah did; according to all that God had commanded him, so he did. 7:1 Then the Lord said to Noah, ‘Enter the ark, you and all your household, for you alone I have seen to be righteous before Me in this time. (NASB) God told Noach that from all of the people of the world, only Noach’s family, his sons and their wives were seen to be righteous before Him in that day. Can you imagine how alone Noach must have felt, there was no one else considered righteous in his day. This brings to memory the passage in 1 Kings 19:14, where Elijah (Eliyahu) was described as discouraged because he was thinking that he was alone in his stand for the Lord. The Lord encouraged Elijah telling him that “Yet I have reserved seven thousand in Israel, all whose knees have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him.” in 1 Kings 19:18.
