Titus 2:2

Titus 2:2
2:2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience. (KJV)

Paul instructs Titus to be sober, temperate, sound in faith, charity and patience in Titus 2:2. From a Torah perspective, Faith (Emunah) is foundational. The entire narrative of God’s covenant with humanity is based on faith, trust, and belief. The Torah teaches us to trust in God’s character, promises, and providence. Our faith is demonstrated through obedience and reliance on Him. Charity (Tzedakah), the Torah emphasizes compassion and caring for others. While the term “charity” may not be explicitly used, the principle of tzedakah (righteous giving) is woven throughout. What we note about these concepts is how the Torah provides timeless principles related to faith, charity, and patience. These principles resonate across both the Torah and NT texts, guiding believers in their walk with God. The Torah has not passed away.
