1 Corinthians 14:34
1 Corinthians 14:34
14:34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. (KJV)
Here in 1 Corinthians 14:34, Paul makes a direct reference to that of using the Law in the conduct of behavior and understanding. Here Paul is alluding to the general principle of submission found in the Torah, such as in Genesis 3:16, which speaks of a woman’s relationship to her husband. In addition, the Torah contains numerous laws and commandments that emphasize obedience to God and His teachings. For example, in Deuteronomy 6:4-9, Moses instructs the Israelites to love and obey God, teaching these commandments to their children and following them diligently. The broader theme of obedience to God’s commands and the hierarchical relationship between men and women can be found in the Torah text. This is how Paul was teaching Torah which again suggests the Torah has not passed away!
