1 Thessalonians 4:11

1 Thessalonians 4:11
4:11 and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life and attend to your own business and work with your hands, just as we commanded you, (NASB)

The Torah contains principles that align with the idea of minding one’s own business and focusing on personal responsibilities as we read in 1 Thess. 4:11. For example, in Exodus 18:21 we read how Jethro advised Moses to delegate responsibilities. This highlights the importance of everyone managing their own duties effectively. In Deuteronomy 24:16 we are told “Parents are not to be put to death for their children, nor children put to death for their parents; each will die for their own sin.” This verse also emphasizes individual responsibility, reinforcing the idea that each person should focus on their own actions and duties. These passages from the Torah reinforce the concept of personal responsibility and focusing on one’s own tasks, paralleling the instruction in 1 Thessalonians 4:11 to “make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands.” This is how Paul taught Torah.
