1 Corinthians 7:4–5
7:4 The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does; and likewise also the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. 7:5 Stop depriving one another, except by agreement for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer, and come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. The Torah emphasizes the importance of mutual responsibility and satisfaction in marriage, which parallels Paul’s command “Let The married satisfy each other in due relationship” in 1 Corinthians 7:4-5. For example, in Exodus 21:10, we read, “If he takes another wife, he shall not diminish her food, her clothing, and her marital rights.” This verse highlights the obligation of a husband to fulfill his wife’s needs, including physical intimacy. Genesis 2:24 also states, “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” This reflects the deep unity and mutual fulfillment that is expected in marriage. Note this is how Paul and the NT text teaches Torah, the Torah has not passed away!
