1 Peter 2:12

1 Peter 2:12
2:12 Keep your behavior excellent among the Gentiles, so that in the thing in which they slander you as evildoers, they may because of your good deeds, as they observe them, glorify God in the day of visitation. (NASB)

The Torah contains teachings that emphasize the importance of honesty and integrity in our interactions, which align with the concept of having honest conversations mentioned in 1 Peter 2:12. For example, in Leviticus 19:11 we read, “Do not steal. Do not lie. Do not deceive one another.” This verse underscores the importance of honesty and integrity in dealing with others. Exodus 20:16 states, “You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.” This commandment emphasizes the importance of truthfulness and honesty in legal and personal matters. Deuteronomy 25:15 states, “You must have accurate and honest weights and measures, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.” This verse highlights the importance of fairness and honesty in trade and daily interactions. These passages from the Torah emphasize the value of honesty and integrity, reflecting the same principles found in the NT about living honorable lives and engaging in honest conversations. Both parts of scripture encourage truthfulness and ethical behavior in all aspects of life. This is how Peter taught Torah, the Torah has not passed away!
