1 Timothy 6:20

1 Timothy 6:20
6:20 O Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to you, avoiding worldly and empty chatter and the opposing arguments of what is falsely called “knowledge”— (NASB)

With Paul we have to dig deeper to understand how he is teaching Torah, such as what we see here in 1 Timothy 6:20. For example, the concept of guarding knowledge and avoiding false teachings can be related to several passages in the Torah that emphasize the importance of maintaining the integrity of divine commandments and teachings. For example, in Deuteronomy 4:2, it is written: “You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.” This verse, along with others, underscores the importance of preserving the teachings as they were given, without alteration or dilution by false ideas or philosophies. This is how Paul is teaching the Torah has not passed away.
