Hebrews 11:6
Hebrews 11:6
11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. (NASB)
There are several parallels in the Torah to the concept of believing that God rewards diligent seeking, as mentioned in Hebrews 11:6. For example, Abraham’s faith In Genesis 15:6, we read, “Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness.” Abraham’s faith and diligent seeking of God’s will are rewarded with the promise of numerous descendants and the land of Canaan. Note also how Moshe diligently sought God, and this is an example to us. In Exodus 33:13, Moshe asks God to show him His ways so that he may know Him and continue to find favor with Him. In Deuteronomy 4:29, it says, “But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul.” This emphasizes the importance of diligently seeking God to receive His blessings and guidance. These parallels illustrate the continuity between the teachings of the Torah and the NT, emphasizing the importance of faith, obedience, and diligently seeking God. The Torah has not passed away.
