Mark 16:15
אָמַר לָהֶם׃ ״לְכוּ אֶל כָּל הָעוֹלָם וְהַכְרִיזוּ אֶת הַבְּשׂוֹרָה לְכָל הַבְּרִיאָה.
The concept of “Go preach” from Mark 16:15, where Yeshua instructs his disciples to go into all the world and preach the gospel, can be compared to the Torah’s emphasis on spreading and teaching God’s word. We note how the Torah emphasizes the importance of sharing and teaching God’s word. One significant parallel is found in Deuteronomy 6:6-7, which underscores the importance of teaching God’s commandments diligently to one’s children and discussing them in daily life. This passage emphasizes the responsibility to keep God’s word central in the community and to pass it on to future generations. In addition, in Deuteronomy 31:12-13, Moses instructs the people to gather together to hear the Torah, learn it, and ensure that even future generations who have not known these laws will hear them and learn to fear the Lord. We also note how the Torah includes the idea of being a “light to the nations,” as seen in the broader biblical narrative, where Israel is called to exemplify God’s ways and influence other nations through a covenantal relationship with God. While the context and specific instructions differ, the underlying principle of spreading and teaching God’s word to others is a shared value in both the Torah and the NT. This is how Yeshua taught Torah, the Torah has not passed away!
