Ephesians 4:27
 כז וְאַל תִּתְּנוּ מָקוֹם לַשָּׂטָן.

The concept of “Give no place to Satan” in Ephesians 4:27 has a parallel in the Torah that emphasizes resisting evil and maintaining holiness. One significant parallel can be found in Genesis 4:7, where God speaks to Cain about mastering sin saying, “If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; its desire is for you, but you must rule over it.” This verse conveys the idea of sin being ever-present and ready to take hold of an individual, much like the concept of the Evil One seeking an opportunity. The instruction to “rule over it” aligns with the NT exhortation to not give the devil a foothold, emphasizing personal responsibility in resisting evil. Another parallel can be drawn out from Deuteronomy 30:19 “I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live.” This verse underscores the importance of making righteous choices and avoiding paths that lead to spiritual death, which can be seen as giving no place to evil influences. These verses from the Torah reinforce the principle of actively resisting sin and making conscious decisions to pursue righteousness, which resonates with the message in Ephesians 4:27. This is how Paul taught Torah, the Torah has not passed away!
