Matthew 10:8
2 Corinthians 9:6
The Torah does contain passages that emphasize the importance of giving freely and generously. (Matt. 10:8; 2 Cor. 9:6) For example, in Deuteronomy 15:10-11 we read, “You shall surely give to him, and your heart should not be grieved when you give to him, because for this thing the Lord your God will bless you in all your works and in all to which you put your hand. For the poor will never cease from the land; therefore, I command you, saying, ‘You shall open your hand wide to your brother, to your poor and your needy, in your land.'” Also, in Leviticus 25:35-37 we read, “If one of your brethren becomes poor, and falls into poverty among you, then you shall help him, like a stranger or a sojourner, that he may live with you. Take no usury or interest from him; but fear your God, that your brother may live with you. You shall not lend him your money for usury, nor lend him your food at a profit.” These passages emphasize the importance of generosity and helping those in need, reflecting the concept of giving freely found in the NT text. Note this is how both Yeshua and Paul taught Torah, the Torah has not passed away!
