2 Corinthians 9:9
ט כַּכָּתוּב׃ ״פִּזַּר נָתַן לָאֶבְיוֹנִים, צִדְקָתוֹ עוֹמֶדֶת לָעַד.״

The concept of eternal righteousness in 2 Corinthians 9:9, which reads, “As it is written: ‘They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor; their righteousness endures forever,'” can be paralleled with several passages in the Torah that emphasize enduring righteousness through acts of obedience and justice. Take for example Deuteronomy 6:25, which speaks of righteousness as a result of observing God’s commandments, “And it will be righteousness for us if we are careful to observe all this commandment before the Lord our God, just as He commanded us.” Another parallel may be found in Deuteronomy 24:13, which emphasizes righteousness through compassionate actions, “When the sun goes down you shall surely return the pledge to him, that he may sleep in his cloak and bless you; and it will be righteousness for you before the Lord your God.” These verses suggest that righteousness is achieved through faithfulness to God’s commandments and through acts of kindness and justice. The Torah’s emphasis on righteous living through obedience and compassion resonates with the NT view of enduring righteousness resulting from generous and just actions. We note that this righteousness is not salvific, meaning that one earns his place in heaven. These texts speak of the broader biblical theme that righteousness is not merely a temporary state but an enduring quality cultivated through faithful and compassionate living in this world. This is how Paul taught Torah, the Torah has not passed away!
