Matthew 4:19
יט אָמַר לָהֶם׃ ״בּוֹאוּ אַחֲרַי וְאֶעֱשֶׂה אֶתְכֶם דַּיָּגֵי אָדָם.״
The Torah contains several parallels to the concept of following the God of Israel, which can be seen as a precursor to the NT call to follow Christ. (Matt. 4:19; 5:22; 16:24; Mark 8:34; 10:21; Luke 9:23; John 21:19) Torah based examples may be taken from following the Annointed one of God, such as Moses (Exodus 3:10-12, Deuteronomy 18) which always corresponds to seeking the God of Israel and walking in His ways. This is consistent with the Call to Israel to Follow God’s Commandments (Deuteronomy 6:4-5) and to serve Him. These examples from the Torah illustrate the foundational principle of seeking the God of Israel by faith, obedience, and commitment, which is echoed and expanded upon in the New Testament call to follow Christ. We note this is how the NT teaches Torah, the Torah has not passed away.
