John 21:15
John 21:15
21:15 So when they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Tend My lambs.” (NASB)
There is a parallel to the concept of “Feed my lambs” (John 21:15) in the Torah which can be found in Deuteronomy 6:2, which states, “Teach [these words] to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” This verse emphasizes the responsibility of guiding and nurturing the younger generation in the ways of God, similar to how Yeshua instructs Peter to care for and teach His followers. Both passages highlight the importance of spiritual leadership and the duty to guide and support those who are spiritually young or new in their faith journey. This nurturing role is central to both the teachings of Yeshua and the instructions given in the Torah. This is how Yeshua taught Torah, the Torah has not passed away!
