Ephesians 5:17
יז לָכֵן אַל תִּהְיוּ חַסְרֵי דַעַת, אֶלָּא הָבִינוּ לָדַעַת מָה רְצוֹנוֹ שֶׁל הָאָדוֹן.
Ephesians 5:17
5:17 So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. (NASB)
Paul writes in Ephesians 5:17 saying, “Be Not Unwise about God’s will.” There are several parallels in the Torah to the concept of not being unwise of the will of God. Deuteronomy 7:2-4 “And when the Lord your God has delivered them over to you and you have defeated them, then you must destroy them totally. Make no treaty with them and show them no mercy. Do not intermarry with them. Do not give your daughters to their sons or take their daughters for your sons, for they will turn your children away from following me to serve other gods, and the Lord’s anger will burn against you and will quickly destroy you.” This commandment highlights the will of God to stay away from alliances or relationships with those who might lead you away from God. This also illustrates the importance of reading God’s word! This passage from the Torah aligns with the principle in Ephesians 5:17. This is how Paul was teaching Torah, the Torah has not passed away!
