James 1:16
 טז אַל נָא תִּטְעוּ, אַחַי אֲהוּבַי.

James 1:16
1:16 Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. (NASB)

There are parallels in the Torah to the concept of “Do not be deceived” found in James 1:16. The Torah emphasizes the importance of not straying from God’s commandments and staying on the path of righteousness. For example, in Deuteronomy 4:16 “Take care, lest you forget the things your eyes have seen, lest they fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and your children’s children.” This verse warns against forgetting God’s commandments and encourages teaching them to future generations, emphasizing the importance of staying true to God’s teachings. In Deuteronomy 5:32 and 6:17, these verses instruct us to follow God’s commandments carefully and not deviate from His path, and to diligently follow God’s commandments and not stray from His statutes. These verses in the NT text (James 1:16) align with the Torah urging believers to stay faithful to God’s teachings and not be led astray by false beliefs or practices. This is how James taught Torah, the Torah has not passed away!
