2 Timothy 1:8

2 Timothy 1:8
1:8 Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord or of me His prisoner, but join with me in suffering for the gospel according to the power of God, (NASB)

Paul wrote do not be ashamed of God in 2 Timothy 1:8. There are several parallels in the Torah to the concept of not being ashamed of God. For example, in Deuteronomy 31:6 we read, “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.” This verse encourages us to be courageous and not fear, as God is with us. In Exodus 14:13-14 we read, “And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.” This passage emphasizes trusting in God’s deliverance and not being ashamed of His power and presence. Numbers 14:9 highlights the importance of not being ashamed or afraid, as God is with His people. These examples from the Torah align with the principle in 2 Timothy 1:8. This is how Paul taught Torah, the Torah has not passed away!
