1 Corinthians 14:39
 לט וּבְכֵן, אַחַי, הִשְׁתּוֹקְקוּ לְהִתְנַבֵּא וְאַל תִּמְנְעוּ דִּבּוּר בִּלְּשׁוֹנוֹת,

1 Corinthians 14:39
14:39 Therefore, my brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak in tongues. (NASB)

In the Torah, Numbers 11:29 offers an interesting parallel to Paul’s words “Covet To Prophesy.” (1 Corinthians 14:39). In the book of Numbers, Moses responds to Joshua’s concern about others prophesying, saying, “I wish that all the Lord’s people were prophets and that the Lord would put his Spirit on them!” This expresses a desire for widespread prophecy and divine inspiration among God’s people, aligning with the NT concept of earnestly desiring the gift of prophecy. This desire for more people to be able to prophesy underscores the value placed on prophecy as a means of communicating God’s will and guidance. It’s about wanting to see God’s Spirit move powerfully among the community. This is how Paul taught Torah; the Torah has not passed away!
