2:7 Consider what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything. (NASB)
There is a parallel in the Torah to the concept of “Consider Truth” found in 2 Timothy 2:7. One relevant verse is Deuteronomy 4:39, which says, “Know therefore this day, and lay it to your heart, that the Lord is God in heaven above and upon the earth beneath; there is none else.” This verse encourages the people to consider and internalize the truth of God’s sovereignty and uniqueness. It aligns with the idea in 2 Timothy 2:7 of reflecting on and understanding the teachings and truths presented. Here Paul was teaching Torah, the Torah has not passed away!
