Luke 12:24
Luke 12:24
12:24 “Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap; they have no storeroom nor barn, and yet God feeds them; how much more valuable you are than the birds! (NASB)
There are parallels in the Torah to the concept of God providing for our needs, as illustrated in the metaphor consider the ravens in Luke 12:24. For example, Manna in the Wilderness: In Exodus 16, God provides manna from heaven to feed the Israelites during their journey in the wilderness. This miraculous provision demonstrates God’s care and sustenance for His people. Provision of Water: In Exodus 17:6, God instructs Moses to strike a rock, and water miraculously flows out to quench the thirst of the Israelites. This act shows God’s ability to provide for their needs in a time of scarcity. Blessings of Obedience: In Deuteronomy 28:1-14, God promises blessings and provision for those who obey His commandments. These blessings include abundant harvests, prosperity, and protection, emphasizing that God takes care of those who follow His ways. These examples from the Torah highlight the theme of God’s provision and care for His people, similar to the message in Luke 12:24 about God providing for the ravens and, by extension, for us. The Torah has not passed away!
