Galatians 6:1
Galatians 6:1
6:1 Brethren, even if anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted. (NASB)
The Torah provides insights that align with the concept of being mindful of one’s own vulnerabilities, as expressed in Galatians 6:1. One pertinent passage is from Deuteronomy 8:11-14 “Beware that you do not forget the Lord your God by not keeping His commandments, His judgments, and His statutes which I command you today, lest—when you have eaten and are full, and have built beautiful houses and dwell in them…then your heart be lifted up, and you forget the Lord your God…” This passage warns of the dangers of complacency and pride, urging the God’s people to remain vigilant and humble, always aware of their potential to stray from God’s commandments. It underscores the importance of self-awareness and humility in maintaining faithfulness, much like the caution in Galatians 6:1 to be mindful of one’s own susceptibility to sin. This is how Paul taught Torah, the Torah has not passed away!
