Luke 12:36
12:36 And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately. (KJV)
Here in the NT text we are commanded to be like faithful servants (Luke 12:36). In the Torah we find the concept of being faithful servants emphasized in various ways. The concept of servant leadership is embedded in the Torah. Leaders are meant to serve both God and the people entrusted to them. Moses exemplified this by putting the needs of the Israelites above his own desires (Hebrews 11:24-26). The Torah outlines responsibilities for leaders, priests, and judges. The Torah consistently emphasizes the importance of being faithful servantsโserving God and others with humility, obedience, and a heart devoted to fulfilling Godโs purposes. This is how the NT text teaches Torah. The Torah has not passed away!
