1 Thessalonians 4:18
 יח עַל כֵּן עוֹדְדוּ זֶה אֶת זֶה בַּדְּבָרִים הָאֵלֶּה.

1 Thessalonians 4:18
4:18 Therefore comfort one another with these words. (NASB)

1 Thessalonians 5:11
 יא עַל כֵּן עוֹדְדוּ זֶה אֶת זֶה וּבְנוּ אִישׁ אֶת אָחִיו, כְּפִי שֶׁאַתֶּם גַּם עוֹשִׂים.

1 Thessalonians 5:11
5:11 Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing. (NASB)

There are parallels in the Torah to the concept of comforting one another, as mentioned in 1 Thessalonians 4:18 and 5:11. For example, Encouragement and Support: In Deuteronomy 1:38, Moses is instructed to encourage Joshua, his successor, to lead the people into the Promised Land. This act of encouragement is a form of comfort and support. Community Responsibility: Leviticus 19:18 states, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” This commandment emphasizes the importance of caring for and supporting one another within the community. Comforting the Bereaved: In Genesis 50:21, Joseph comforts his brothers after the death of their father, Joseph, saying, “So then, don’t be afraid. I will provide for you and your children.” This act of reassurance and provision is a form of comfort. These examples show that the Torah encourages acts of comfort, support, and encouragement within the community, similar to the message in 1 Thessalonians 4:18 and 5:11. The Torah has not passed away!
