Matthew 10:8
Matthew 10:8
10:8 “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you received, freely give. (NASB)
In Matthew 10:8 we are told that we will cast out Devils. The Torah doesn’t explicitly mention the concept of being freed from evil spirits in the same way as Matthew 10:8 does. There are however some related themes and concepts in the Torah that touch on purity, holiness, and the removal of impurity. For example, the Torah contains numerous laws and rituals aimed at maintaining spiritual and physical purity. (Leviticus 14-15) These things are written so that we can be free from impurity, either physically or spiritually. While these Torah commands are not directly about casting out evil spirits, they do emphasize the importance of maintaining a state of holiness and purity, which can be seen as a parallel to the idea of being free from evil spirits. God wants us to be free and not in bondage. These things are consistent with the Torah concept of freedom from bondage. The Torah has not passed away!
