Mark 12:38
12:38 In His teaching He was saying: “Beware of the scribes who like to walk around in long robes, and like respectful greetings in the market places, (NASB)

Luke 20:46
20:46 “Beware of the scribes, who like to walk around in long robes, and love respectful greetings in the market places, and chief seats in the synagogues and places of honor at banquets, (NASB)

In the NT Yeshua warns to Beware of the Scribes (Mark 12:38, Luke 20:46). There are parallels in the Torah to the concept of “Beware of the Scribes” by the way that the Torah emphasizes the importance of integrity, sincerity, and the proper handling of God’s word. In Exodus 24:3-4, Deuteronomy 4:2, and Deuteronomy 31:9-13 we read how the Torah emphasizes the need for integrity and sincerity in handling and teaching God’s word. Such as, do not to add or subtract from God’s commandments, etc. We are to be faithful to God’s word and not put a spin what is written. Yeshua warns in Mark 12:38 and Luke 20:46 to beware of those who twist God’s word. This is how Yeshua taught the Torah. The Torah has not passed away.
