Philippians 3:2
ב הִזָּהֲרוּ מֵהַכְּלָבִים. הִזָּהֲרוּ מִפּוֹעֲלֵי הָרֶשַׁע. הִזָּהֲרוּ מִן הַחִתּוּךְ.
Philippians 3:2
3:2 Beware of the dogs, beware of the evil workers, beware of the false circumcision; (NASB)
Yes, there are parallels in the Torah to the concept of “Beware of the Dogs” meaning we are to be wary of false teachers, as mentioned in Philippians 3:2. Such false teachers may be as what is mentioned in Deuteronomy 13:1-3, “If a prophet, or one who foretells by dreams, appears among you and announces to you a sign or wonder, and if the sign or wonder spoken of takes place, and the prophet says, ‘Let us follow other gods’ (gods you have not known) ‘and let us worship them,’ you must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer. The Lord your God is testing you to find out whether you love him with all your heart and with all your soul.” Note also Deuteronomy 18:20-22. These passages emphasize the importance of discerning true teachings from false ones and being cautious of those who might lead people away from the truth of God’s word. This aligns with Paul’s warning in Philippians 3:2 about being aware of false teachers. This is how Paul taught Torah, the Torah has not passed away!
