Luke 12:1

Luke 12:1
12:1 Under these circumstances, after so many thousands of people had gathered together that they were stepping on one another, He began saying to His disciples first of all, “Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. (NASB)

Yeshua warns Beware of Hypocrisy (Luke 12:1) and there are parallels in the Torah to this concept which relate to the importance of integrity and sincerity. According to Leviticus 11:4 the Torah mentions animals that have only one sign of kashrut (kosher), such as the camel, the hyrax, and the hare. These animals are not kosher because they lack one of the required signs. This can be seen as a metaphor for hypocrisy, where something appears to be pure or acceptable on the outside but is not truly so on the inside. In Deuteronomy 25:13-16 the Torah commands the Israelites to have honest weights and measures, emphasizing the importance of integrity and condemning deceitful practices. This highlights the importance of sincerity, integrity, and the rejection of hypocrisy. Note how these concepts integrate the Torah commands into the lives or believers. The Torah has not passed away.
