Matthew 7:15

Matthew 7:15
7:15 “Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. (NASB)

There are parallels in the Torah to the concept of “Beware of False Prophets” from Matthew 7:15. The Torah contains several passages that warn against false prophets and emphasize the importance of discerning true messages from God. For example in Deuteronomy 13:1-5 we are warned about false prophets who may perform signs and wonders but lead people away from God. The Torah instructs us to test these prophets and not to follow them if they advocate worshiping other gods. Note also how Deuteronomy 18:20-22 provides criteria for identifying false prophets. It states that if a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord but their prophecy does not come to pass, they are not to be feared or followed. These passages from the Torah align with the message in Matthew 7:15, which advises believers to beware of false prophets who come in sheep’s clothing but are inwardly ravenous wolves. The Torah has not passed away!
