Matthew 10:16

Matthew 10:16
10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. (KJV)

Here in Matthew 10:16, Yeshua commands us to be Wise As Serpents. In the Torah, there are several principles and commandments that emphasize wisdom and understanding. While the Torah doesn’t explicitly say, “Be wise,” its teachings and commandments guide us toward wisdom, understanding, and ethical living. By following these principles, we fulfill the call to be wise as we navigate our lives according to God’s guidance. In addition, the Torah teaches us to recognize the existence of God and understand that everything in the universe is created by Him. This foundational knowledge encourages wisdom and reverence to God. The commands also emphasize acting wisely and ethically in all aspects of life. This principle about our behavior also reflects the principle of being wise. Because being wise encourages us to honor God in awe and fear of the Lord. Recognizing God’s greatness leads to a reverential attitude which also engages us intellectually to be wise deepening our Love for the Lord. The Torah has not passed away.
