Revelation 2:10
Revelation 2:10
2:10 ‘Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, so that you will be tested, and you will have tribulation for ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. (NASB)
The concept of being watchful or vigilant to strengthen oneself, as mentioned in Revelation 2:10, is a theme that can be found throughout the Bible. The Torah emphasizes the importance of obedience to God’s commandments and living a righteous life. Deuteronomy 6:17 instructs the Israelites to “diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and His testimonies and His statutes which He has commanded you.” Here individuals are to be vigilant in their adherence to God’s Word to continually strive to grow in the Lord! This is how the Torah is used as a source text to derive the specific concept of being “watchful to strengthen yourself” as it’s presented in Revelation 2:10. The Torah has not passed away!
