Hebrews 6:12

Hebrews 6:12
6:12 so that you will not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. (NASB)

The author of Hebrews 6:12 wrote Be Not Slothful. There are several passages in the Torah that emphasize diligence and the importance of not being lazy, which can be seen as parallels to this passage. For example, Exodus 18:20 states, “And thou shalt teach them ordinances and laws, and shalt shew them the way wherein they must walk, and the work that they must do.” This instruction from Jethro to Moses underscores the importance of teaching the people to be diligent in their duties. Deuteronomy 6:7 also states, “And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.” This verse emphasizes the importance of diligently teaching and passing on the commandments to the next generation. These verses from the Hebrew Bible, emphasize the value of diligence much like Hebrews 6:12. The Torah has not passed away.
