Ephesians 5:7
ז עַל כֵּן אַל תִּהְיוּ שֻׁתָּפִים לָהֶם.
Ephesians 5:7
5:7 Therefore do not be partakers with them; (NASB)
Paul states “Be Not Partakers with Sinners” in Ephesians 5:7. There are several passages in the Torah that parallel the concept of not being partakers with sinners. In Leviticus 18:24-30 Moshe warns Israel not to defile themselves by engaging in the sinful practices of the nations around them. This emphasizes the importance of maintaining holiness and separation from sinful behaviors. In Deuteronomy 7:1-6, God commands to avoid making covenants or intermarrying with the pagan nations in the Promised Land to prevent the people from being led astray into idolatry and sinful practices. Numbers 16:26 records Moses’ warning to the congregation to separate themselves from the tents of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, who had rebelled against God’s authority. Moses urged the people to distance themselves from the rebels to avoid sharing in their punishment. Ephesians 5:7 reflects the sentiment of these passages from the Torah. This is how Paul taught Torah, the Torah has not passed away!
