Romans 12:21
כא אַל תַּנִּיחַ לָרַע לְהִתְגַּבֵּר עָלֶיךָ, אֶלָּא הִתְגַּבֵּר עַל הָרַע בַּטּוֹב.

Romans 12:21
12:21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. (KJV)

Paul teaches us to “Be Not Overcome by evil” in Romans 12:21. In the Torah, there are passages that convey a similar message of overcoming evil with good. For example, in Deuteronomy 30:15-16 we are being instructed to make the choice between good and evil. Here Mosh states by following God’s commandments we are choosing life and goodness. In Leviticus 19:18 we are told not to take vengeance, highlighting the importance of loving one’s neighbor and not seeking vengeance, which aligns with overcoming evil with good. In Exodus 23:4-5 we are also instructed to help our enemy, demonstrating goodness in the face of potential hostility. These passages from the Torah parallel the message in Romans 12:21 by encouraging believers to respond to evil with acts of goodness and righteousness. This is how Paul was teaching Torah, the Torah has not passed away!
