Romans 12:2
Romans 12:2
12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (KJV)
Paul speaks about “Not Being Conformed to the world” according to Romans 12:2. In the Torah, there are passages that convey a similar message of not conforming to the ways of the world and staying true to the God of Israel. For example, in Leviticus 18:3-4 we are instructed to not follow the practices of the surrounding nations but to adhere to God’s word. In Deuteronomy 18:9 we are warned against adopting the detestable practices of the nations. In Exodus 23:2 we are told to not follow the crowd in doing wrong and maintain our integrity. These passages from the Torah parallel the message in Romans 12:2 by encouraging believers to resist conforming to worldly practices and to remain faithful to God’s commandments. This is how Paul was teaching Torah, the Torah has not passed away!
