1 Peter 5:5

1 Peter 5:5
5:5 You younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE. (NASB)

The concept of being clothed with humility (1 Peter 5:5) is indeed present in the Torah. The Hebrew term for humility is “Anavah” עֲנָוָה and it is a highly valued virtue according to the Scriptures. Moses, the author of the Torah, is described as “very humble, more than any person on the face of the earth” (Numbers 12:3). His humility was not just an external show, but a genuine attribute that defined his character. The Torah teaches that true humility is not about underestimating oneself or overestimating oneself. Both arrogance and false humility stem from the ego and are defined in relation and comparison to other people. True humility comes from recognizing that we each have our own unique purpose and have been given the gifts to carry it out. Yeshua also demonstrated this attribute of humility and called us to walk in His footsteps. These examples illustrate how 1 Peter 5:5 was teaching the Torah, the Torah has not passed away.
