Philippians 4:6

Philippians 4:6
4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. (KJV)

The concept of being anxious for nothing, as expressed by Paul in Philippians 4:6, is to not worry about anything but instead, in every situation, present requests to God with prayer and thanksgiving. The point is to trust in God. The Torah does offer principles that align with the idea of trusting in God and not succumbing to fear or anxiety. For instance, in Exodus 14:13-14, Moshe tells the Israelites, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today… The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” This passage encourages trust in God’s deliverance in the face of fear, and when we trust God performs a great miracle. Deuteronomy 31:6 offers a similar sentiment: “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” This verse reassures the people of God’s constant presence and support, which is a foundation for not being anxious. Notice this is how Paul teaches Torah. The Torah has not passed away!
