James 1:22
כב הֱיוּ עוֹשֵׂי הַדָּבָר וְלֹא רַק שׁוֹמְעִים, פֶּן תְּרַמּוּ אֶת עַצְמְכֶם;

James 1:22
1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. (KJV)

The concept of being a doer of the Word (James 1:22) is also a Torah concept, where the Torah often emphasizes obedience to God’s commandments. For instance, Deuteronomy 28:1 states: “And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth.” This verse emphasizes the importance of not just hearing God’s commandments, but also doing them. This is exactly what James was teaching. This is how James was teaching Torah, the Torah has not passed away!
