Titus 3:9

Titus 3:9
3:9 But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and strife and disputes about the Law, for they are unprofitable and worthless. (NASB)

Here Paul warns against “foolish controversies” in Titus 3:9. He says avoid debates and discussions that are divisive and do not promote spiritual growth or unity within the community. These controversies are described as “unprofitable and worthless” because they distract from the core message of truth and can lead to quarrels rather than building each other up. The Torah emphasizes the importance of maintaining peace and unity. For example, Leviticus 19:18 instructs, “You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.” This commandment encourages harmonious relationships, which can be disrupted by engaging in pointless disputes. The Torah has not passed away.
