Ephesians 4:25
כה עַל כֵּן הָסִירוּ אֶת הַשֶּׁקֶר וְדַבְּרוּ אֱמֶת אִישׁ לְרֵעֵהוּ, (זכריה ח׳ טז׳)
Ephesians 4:25
25 Therefore, laying aside falsehood, speak truth, each one of you, with his neighbor, for we are members of one another. (NASB)
Zechariah 8:16
16 ‘These are the things which you should do: speak the truth to one another; judge with truth and judgment for peace in your gates. (NASB)
So, Zechariah 8:16 speaks of a Torah truth. There are two commandments that explicitly prohibit lying: Lo tisa shema shav – you shall not utter a false report. (Exodus 23:1) Midavar sheker tirchak – from a false matter you shall distance yourself. (Exodus 23:7) Here, Paul speaks a Torah truth in Ephesians 4:25 about the importance of being truthful to others. The Torah has not passed away!
