Bits of Torah Truths – The Torah Was Not Given So One could Earn One’s Way into Heaven – Episode 110
Galatians 3:10
י הַנִּשְׁעָנִים עַל קִיּוּם מִצְווֹת הַתּוֹרָה נְתוּנִים תַּחַת קְלָלָה, שֶׁהֲרֵי כָּתוּב, ״אָרוּר כָּל מִי שֶׁלֹּא יָקִים אֶת כָּל הַדְּבָרִים הַכְּתוּבִים בְּסֵפֶר הַתּוֹרָה לַעֲשׂוֹת אוֹתָם.״ (דברים כז׳ כו׳)
Deuteronomy 27:26
כו אָר֗וּר אֲשֶׁ֧ר לֹא־יָקִ֛ים אֶת־דִּבְרֵ֥י הַתּוֹרָֽה־הַזֹּ֖את לַעֲשׂ֣וֹת אוֹתָ֑ם וְאָמַ֥ר כָּל־הָעָ֖ם אָמֵֽן׃
Galatians 3:10
3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. (KJV)
Deuteronomy 27:26
27:26 Cursed be he that confirmeth not all the words of this law to do them. And all the people shall say, Amen. (KJV)
The key to understanding Paul here is that the Torah was never given for man to earn his way into heaven. That is not the purpose of the Torah! Note this is what Paul was arguing over, and there are many who still believe this to be true today under the doctrine of dispensationalism. The point is that the Torah is a way of life for believers, and was not meant for one to earn their way into heaven. The Torah has not passed away!
