Bits of Torah Truths – The Torah is Needed to Understand NT Stuff – Episode 96
1 Corinthians 15:54
1 Corinthians 15:54
54 But when this perishable will have put on the imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written, “Death is swallowed up in victory. (NASB)
Isaiah 25:8
8 He will swallow up death for all time, And the Lord God will wipe tears away from all faces, And He will remove the reproach of His people from all the earth; For the Lord has spoken. (NASB)
Here both Isaiah and Paul allude to the Torah from Sefer Bereshit (Genesis) how sin and death entered into the world through the disobedience of Adam. In 1 Corinthians 15:54 Paul quotes from Isaiah 25:8 to explain how Yeshua overcame sin and death. The Torah perspective is needed to understand the origin of these things and the victory that God provided in His Messiah. The Torah has not passed away!
