Hebrews 4:4
Hebrews 4:4
4:4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. (KJV)
Genesis 2:2
2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. (KJV)
Here in Hebrews 4:4 the author of Hebrews quoted from Bereshit / Genesis 2:2 using the Torah as a proof text to justify the day of rest providing the context for what is written in Hebrews chapter 4. This provides us with evidence that the NT writers did not believe the Torah has passed away!
