1 Peter 1:25
1 Peter 1:25
25 But the word of the Lord abides forever.” And this is the word which was preached to you. (NASB)
Isaiah 40:6–8
6 A voice says, “Call out.” Then he answered, “What shall I call out?” All flesh is grass, and all its loveliness is like the flower of the field. 7 The grass withers, the flower fades, When the breath of the Lord blows upon it; Surely the people are grass. 8 The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever. (NASB)
Here in 1 Peter 1:25, Peter quotes from Isaiah.40:6-8. We note how Isaiah in these verses are speaking of the eternality of God’s Word, of which the Torah is a fundamental part. The significance of this statement in 1 Peter 1:25 draws out how all of the Scripture references the Torah. In fact, we would not know who the Creatore God is and the love that He has for His creation. These things again demonstrate how the Torah has not passed away.
