Hebrews 4:7
Hebrews 4:7
4:7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. (KJV)
Psalm 95:7–8
95:7 For he is our God; And we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice, 95:8 Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, And as in the day of temptation in the wilderness: (KJV)
The author of Hebrews 4:7 quotes from Psalms 95:7-8 which again appeals to the Torah concerning the rebellion of the Israelites in the wilderness in Bamidbar / Numbers 14:20-35. Here the Psalm calls us sheep in God’s pasture, and so we should be obedient to the Lord, and not rebellious like those in the wilderness. The Torah has not passed away.
