Bits of Torah Truths – Paul uses the Torah as a Proof Text concerning Yeshua as Messiah – Episode 114
Galatians 3:16
Galatians 3:16
3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. (KJV)
Genesis 12:7
12:7 And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him. (KJV)
Genesis 13:15
13:15 For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever. (KJV)
Genesis 24:7
24:7 The LORD God of heaven, which took me from my father’s house, and from the land of my kindred, and which spake unto me, and that sware unto me, saying, Unto thy seed will I give this land; he shall send his angel before thee, and thou shalt take a wife unto my son from thence. (KJV)
Here in Galatians 3:16, Paul writes backing up his claims using the Torah as a proof text. Paul explains that God’s Mashiach is the fulfillment of what was promised to Abraham. (Genesis 12:7, 13:15, 24:7) This promise is to bless all the nations, by offering a way to learn about God in heaven and turn from idolatry and sin! The Torah has not passed away.
