Bits of Torah Truths – Paul Taught Torah Emphasizing Doing Good Deeds – Episode 134
Titus 2:14
Titus 2:14
14 who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds. (NASB) Exodus 19:5 5 ‘Now then, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own possession among all the peoples, for all the earth is Mine; (NASB)
Deuteronomy 14:2
2 “For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; and the Lord has chosen you to be a people for His own possession out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth. (NASB)
Here in Titus 2;14 Paul emphasizes that Yeshua died so we can have a zeal for good deeds. We note that the Torah emphasizes the importance of performing good deeds, containing many commandments that encourage people to perform good deeds, such as giving to charity, visiting the sick, and helping the poor. These commandments are intended to promote kindness, compassion, and generosity, and to help people live more fulfilling lives. These things again emphasize how the Torah has not passed away!
