Bits of Torah Truths – Paul states We Must Both have Faith and Be Faithful to God in Heaven – Episode 108
Galatians 3:6
Galatians 3:6
3:6 Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. (KJV)
Genesis 15:6
15:6 And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness. (KJV)
Here in Galatians 3:6, Paul uses the Torah as a proof text for having faith and being counted as righteous before God. Paul uses Abraham as the example, (Genesis 15:6) speaking of being righteous through faith. We note how there are two things that Abraham did, the first was that he obeyed the calling of God to leave his country and to go to the land that God showed him. And the second was his having faith that God would give him a son. We note that in the first instance, he obeyed God’s word, and in the second instance he simply exercised his faith. What this suggests for us is the unity and importance of faith and faithfulness before God. Paul uses the Torah to demonstrate these things. The Torah has not passed away!
