Bits of Torah Truths – Paul is Teaching from the Torah in Romans 2:12 – Episode 66

Romans 2:12

Romans 2:12
12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; (KJV)

A few things to comment about the context, here sin and perishing are mentioned, and with or without the law, the point paul is making is that because of sin one will perish, whether one knows what the Torah says, or one doesnt know what the Torah says. Take Leviticus 5:17 as an example, one is guilty even if he doesnt know what the Torah says. That is Paul’s point, Paul is using Leviticus 5:17. Also, it is important to note that sin is not defined whether one knows he has sinned or not. Sin is defined in the Torah, so whether one knows or not he will perish because sin. The Word of God is eternal (Isaiah 40:8)
