Bits of Torah Truths – Paul Citing Isaiah References the Torah – Episode 100
2 Corinthians 6:2
2 Corinthians 6:2
2 for He says, “At the acceptable time I listened to you, And on the day of salvation I helped you” ; behold, now is “the acceptable time,” behold, now is “the day of salvation” (NASB)
Isaiah 49:8
8 Thus says the Lord, “In a favorable time I have answered You, And in a day of salvation I have helped You; And I will keep You and give You for a covenant of the people, To restore the land, to make them inherit the desolate heritages; (NASB)
Here in 2 Corinthians 6:2 quotes Isaiah 49:8. The Isaiah passage contains many Torah concepts: salvation, help, covenant, inheritance, and the Land of Israel. Note how these things connect the NT text right back to the Torah. The Torah has not passed away.
